This morning was a rare day that Mike didn't need to leave for work until 7:30. While Mike was getting ready, I tried to get Josh up. 15 min later he heads to the shower. I make breakfast and then check on Josh. He has been in the shower for 20 min and hasn't touched the soap or shampoo. Ugh. I remind him that he needs to finish up and get out quickly because breakfast is ready. Mike and I eat while Josh finishes up and runs to his room to get dressed. All of a sudden we hear this "ahhh!" Mike calls to Josh and asks if he's okay. He says "yeah. I just fell over while I was putting my underwear on." Oh brother. Mike is leaving as Josh comes to sit down to eat. I look at Josh's hair and am displeased to see that it looks awful even after I told him to go comb it so that it wouldn't dry crazy. Then I look again. Most of his hair is still dry. "Josh, did you even wash your hair?" He kind of looks at me and moves his head in a noncommittal circle. Deja vu to Tuesday when he was standing in the shower and told me he had washed his hair and he hadn't. "Josh, tell me the truth. Did you wash your hair?"
"No."
"Please go back and wash your hair. You have 5 min"
Josh runs to the bathroom and I almost immediately hear the water come on. I was surprised. I didn't realize that my kid could get naked that fast. A few minutes later, the shower turns off and Josh comes into the hall with tears in his eyes. "Mom you made me get my shirt all wet! I didn't want to get it wet and you made me do it!" Josh had decided to wash his hair... without getting undressed. His hair was dripping wet and so was his shirt. Seriously Josh? What were you thinking? I tried not to laugh too much as I helped him out of his shirt. Not thinking it was funny, he muttered curses at me as he went to find a clean shirt.
