This morning after Josh finally decided to get dressed, he came to me with a big smile on his face. "Guess what mom. I put my new underwear on top of my old underwear!"
"That's silly." I say. "Are you going to go and fix it?"
"Nope!"
I just smile and shake my head. I remind myself it's not something worth arguing about. As Josh is dancing around with excitement he adds "it feels a little tighty." I try once again to convince him to fix the problem.
Today, in a first grade class, there is a little boy with 2 missing front teeth and an extra pair of underwear. He is definitely on the road to success.

Clothes
Yesterday Josh came to breakfast wearing a green shirt and light blue 'soft' pants. I told him they didn't match and after a long conversation about matching, mixed with whining from him, he finally went and changed his pants. He comes out wearing his green shirt still but has now changed his pants to a dark blue color. I once again tell him that it doesn't match and he goes into a long explanation that his pants are actually black and purple mixed together and so they just LOOK blue. I finally make him go back and change once again. This time, I tell myself, I will accept whatever he's wearing as long it's not some sort of blue. A few minutes later he walks out in some maroon 'soft' pants and asks if it matches. I tell him it works and that he can wear them. He breaks into a big grin, laughs and then says "I tricked you mom. These pants are blue on the inside!" They're a pair of reversible pants, which I knew, but since he wasn't wearing the blue side I didn't care. Instead I just smiled and said "yep you did." We both came away feeling like winners.
