Sleep Walking?

So Josh has issues with sleeping.  I posted earlier about some of the random places he sleeps but I didn't clarify that he almost never sleeps in his own bed.  About half the time he will start out in his own bed but it is a rare sight to see him still in it by the middle of the night.  I can't seem to find any legit reason for it either.  We even moved his mattress onto the floor because he promised if we did that then he would sleep on it, but he lied.  As a side note, he did sleep in his bed on his BYU pillow pet ALL night long on Christmas Eve...thank you Santa!

I guess you could say I used to be a light sleeper because I would wake up for everything.  If the dog was getting ready to throw up, I'd wake up.  When Josh would try to sneak into our room to sleep, I'd wake up. Even random little noises from outside would wake me up.  This past month things have changed however.  I was surprised when Mike told me that he had cleaned up dog throw up on 2 different occasions  after noticing it when he got up in the morning.  Josh has been able to sneak into our room and I haven't  even notice until morning.  So the fact that I heard him Thursday night is quite miraculous.

It was just after midnight when I heard him call my name.  I started to wake up but wasn't sure if I was hearing things or not.  Just a few seconds later I heard him call me again with a more desperate tone in his voice.  Something was wrong.  I jumped out of bed and ran to his room.  I looked inside....he wasn't there.  I ran back to my room and checked the floor and recliner.  Nothing.  I went back to his room thinking he must be in his bed and I missed him because I just checked the ground.  Nothing.  Panic.  I called his name a couple times and waited.  Then I heard him call me again and I glanced around trying to figure out where his voice was coming from. The house was pitch black, where could he be?  I started calling his name again and then I heard him coming up the stairs.  He had tears in his eyes as he said "Mom, I couldn't find you."  I hugged him and tried to comfort him as I asked him why he was looking for me downstairs.  He couldn't answer me.  I figured he was just tired and so I went and tucked him back into his bed.  He was asleep instantly.  I went back to my bed and tried to calm down and figure out what he was thinking when I heard him cry out my name again.  I called to him and he came into my room saying that he was scared.  I let him climb in bed with me and decided to figure it all out in the morning.

The next morning I asked Josh about it.  He didn't remember anything.  When I told him that he had been downstairs looking for me in the middle of the night without any lights on, I sounded like the crazy one. After all, this is Josh we're talking about.  He doesn't like going downstairs in the middle of the day unless he can get the dog to go with him.  We never did figure it out, but I hope it never happens again.
