Answers to Prayers
On Saturday, Josh was really excited to play with his friend Bode who lives across the street. At 7:30am he asked if he could go over. I told him that he had to wait until 10am and then he could go. As soon as 10 came, he was out the door and across the street in a hurry. A few minutes later he came back and said that Bode wasn't home. 10 minutes later he told me he was going to go check again. Bode still wasn't home. After a few more tries, 10 min apart , I told him that he should probably wait for at least 30 min before he tried again. This continued until 4pm. As he came home from checking once again, he had a confident smile on his face. I asked if Bode was home and he replied that he wasn't. He then told me that he had stayed on Bode's porch and said a prayer to Heavenly Father that Bode would come home really soon so that he could play with him. Awww. It was so sweet. I asked him if he thought Heavenly Father would answer his prayer and he said yes. He headed back down to play the wii and I immediately got on the phone and called Bode's mom. "Are you guys going to be home anytime soon?" I asked semi frantically. She told me that they would probably be home in about an hour. I was so relieved. When Josh came back up 45 min later wanting to go see if Bode was home, I kind of panicked. What if he wasn't? Would Josh think that Heavenly Father didn't listen to him? I quickly looked out the window and to my surprise and relief I saw that Bode had just arrived home. Josh ran outside and, after looking both ways to cross the street, ran up Bode's driveway to meet him. At the same time Bode ran down to meet Josh. It was picture perfect. For a second I thought they would hug each other seeing as they were running towards each other so fast. They stopped inches apart and after a quick greeting, turned around and walked into Bode's house together. I then said a prayer myself, thanking Heavenly Father for allowing us to live here where Josh had a friend so close. That had been an answer to my prayer.
