Spring Break
When did kids start getting a whole week off for Spring Break? Even with my awful memory, I swear we never got more than 3 days. But that's beside the point. Josh's Spring Break started off great. I let him have cereal for breakfast and he watched cartoons until 10am. Life was good. Then he started playing with his friends. Don't get me wrong, I'm happy he has friends, I'm just not a big fan of the ones that live next door. For starters, they like to play on their driveway which is on the other side of their house. Which means that I can't see what Josh is doing or exactly where he is. One day I went out to find him holding some kind of sharp knife with which he was cutting and eating weeds with. Nice. Another day they were playing with one of the kids Violins. If Josh had a Violin, I would have grounded him forever if he had taken it outside to play with as a toy. Another time, the two neighbor kids were climbing over the barb wire fence into the field behind our houses and trying to convince Josh to join them. I've also seen them playing dodge ball on someones flat trailer where the 8 yr old boy would stand less than 7ft away and chuck a hard ball at them. Brilliant.
