This one is completely true but some may find it to be a little 'inappropriate.' Continue at your own risk.
I have been babysitting my niece, Lyndsey for the past 3 months. Josh loves her! He loves to play with her and is sad that he has to leave her behind while he goes to school. About a month ago, Josh just happened to be home and in the living room while I was changing Lyndsey's diaper. I didn't think anything of it until he said "Mom, where's her penis?" I told him that girls don't have a penis, only boys do. He looks at me with a confused look and says "Are you joking me?"
"No, I'm not."
"Only boys have one?"
"Yep. You have one because you're a boy. Dad has one because he's a boy. Lyndsey doesn't have one because she's a girl."
He processes this information for a second, then turning to me says "But you have one right?"
"Nope because I'm not a boy."
By this time I've already gotten Lyndsey's diaper and pants back on. I waited to see if Josh had any other questions but he was already distracted with something else. I suppressed a giggle as I realized that I just had an anatomy lesson with him and it wasn't even awkward. He totally understood it and I mentally checked it off my list of 'must have' discussions.
Later that day, however, while he was doing his math homework he suddenly stopped and looked up at me. "Mom are you serious you don't have a penis?" Hmm. It's a good thing that I used a mental pencil to check off my 'must have discussion' list because it looks like I have to erase that check mark. Darn.
